friday blues

As I near the start of my 3 week hiatus from all social contact, I realize this is my last Friday of freedom. I'm starting to psyche up myself for what lies ahead and prepare for total isolation (minus the few study buddies that serve as my moralers during this time).

09.22.07 - I will meet my maker...the GMATs.

Hopefully I won't be a total stranger to everyone after that day commences. Help support me in my efforts to achieve that 800 I so desperately need to go to any B-school even worth going to.

Now for your listening pleasure.....Clazziquai's 'Friday Blues' :-) Man, I love this group....almost as much as I love m-flo. Alex is an awesome vocalist....DAMN IM JEALOUS!!

self-indulgent googling

Here I am at work....bored to death....thinking about something to do. So what do people do when they're bored? They search for themselves on Google! That's right folks...try it out and you'd be surprised to find stuff that is actually relevant to you on a meta-search engine!

When I typed in "Scott Anthony Lee", I got this search result which I thought was kind of stalkerish:
Names Database

Then when I searched for "Scott Lee" + "UCLA", I got this result:
Daily Bruin

So yeah....I remember a while back, I did this and I had results for Phi Alpha Delta and Alpha Phi Omega, but those bitches have since updated their websites =P Wow, I owe big props to Phillip for getting me into the Daily Bruin =D

Lesson of the Day: When bored at work, resort to Google =)

bipolar

I apologize for my last post. Things have been better since then...it was just a lot of adjustment to take care of. But anyway...just to share, this is what's on repeat at work all day :-)

It's kinda weird because if you've heard the original version of this song, it's totally not like this.....more slow and sweet. For all you know that know me, I'm more of a poppy kinda guy so this fits my taste just fine =D

eh...just thought I'd share...

forlorn

why is it that there are times when mankind can make me so forlorn about it? these are just some of the things that i'm just so sick and tired of...

- selfishness
- manipulation
- mind games
- bi-polarism
- indecisiveness
- conceit

...i think if all these things, not to mention a couple of more not on the list, were taken out of this world, it would be a much better place.

don't ya think?

technological dependence??

Vegas this weekend was awesome....good friends....good food.....good times. Getting there took a bit of planning, but in the end, I ended up driving my sister's RSX since my car's leased and well....I have a stringent mileage restriction (12,000/year -- 31 cents/additional mile) I'm currently at 27,000 miles and only 22 months....you do the math. But yeah, as it turns out, I thought I'd be fine driving this weekend without my tech gadgets in my car. Boy, was I wrong....

I realized that I'm virtually a paralyzed blindman without my navi. On the way there, I had the perception that Bra would serve as a reliable navigator. Before reaching the MGM Signature, I commited 2 missed turns cuz I was blind-sighted without my navi. That was the first scenario. The second was on the way back from the Wynn trying to get back to the hotel. Took us about 20 minutes to get back cuz I went around in circles trying to find that stupid street KORVAL. The last scenario was trying to get to the breakfast place on Sahara Ave., and freaking out when I thought that I was lost again.

All in all, I've realized that my navi is my best friend. Thank you Ismelda for always guiding me on the right path. I love you.

Vegas, in sum, was an awesome trip. Here are the highlights of my weekend:

-- eating the lunch/dinner buffet @ the Wynn (lunch transitioned into dinner without us having to pay the difference which was $9....SCORE!) we stayed there from 2:45 pm to nearly 5:30 pm =)

-- ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS!! with everyone

-- Finally meeting up/randomly bumping into my good friend Ryan Yoshiyama after knowing him for what...6 years??

-- Almost throwing it down with some crazy black chick to told me to "Get over yourself!" and throwing a used tissue in my face

-- Laughing uncontrollably for almost 30 mins

-- Eating at Eggs and I for lunch the next day

WOOOO HOOOOOO!! I can't wait til the next Vegas trip...which'll probably be after Sept. 22nd

Carry on, folks.

new goodies on the horizon

With the new release of the new iMac, it leaves me with the question that leaves all Mac enthusiasts hanging by a thread.....to iMac or not to iMac?

The sleeker, redefined look really makes it some mentionable eye candy (although Bra would beg to differ w/ the new black front). No, but really....this post is really geared towards deciding whether or not I want one of these suckas.....actually, I guess the question really is whether or not I can afford it. The best part about this is that it's cheaper....which is really what stumps me. Why is it so much cheaper than the previous iMacs which started ran on average $100 more than the current ones? I'm sure that with Leopard OSX coming out, devoted Mac users are going to suck these babies right off the shelves and pretty soon, Macs will dominate the world just as Google has. It's just a matter of time before everyone has a Mac in their home MUAHAHA =)

In other debut news, the new 2008 Mercedes Benz C-Class is coming out....and not with just one type of model, but TWO. The new C-Class will have both the Sports line and the Luxury line. I'm heading to the C-Drive event next Saturday to test drive these things w/ Nutz and Seiji. Warren pointed out how they look like Bimmers now....well I can't detest that. I think that's what makes them all the more appealing (discounting the whole free maintenance for 4 years/40,000 miles). But yeah, the C-Class definitely has the potential to be the replacement of ISmelda when she goes back to Lexus October of '09. Hopefully the price won't be a killer and I'll be able to at least live a little more than from paycheck to paycheck =P GOOD SHIT!

Well that's the end of this post....why does it feel like I advertised more than blogged? HAHA Okay, next entry will be more personal, I promise. :-D

housewarming

I think that I've finally moved on with my life--moved on to bigger, better, blogger things. Hell, I even got rid of the time that I usually stick in my posts cuz this thing actually displays the time. That's the difference between refined/sophisticated blogging and well....Xanga.

In retrospect, I must say that Xanga/Janga/Xangay/Zanga/X was definitely good to me for the oh, 5.5 years that I used it. Everyone had a "Xanga" regardless of whether or not they actually used it. Another plus was that the stalking capabilities on that blogsite were endless. I enjoyed how everyone had a Xanga, so it was always exciting to get a notification in the e-mail stating 'New webblog comment on your post!" oh....those were the good ole days.

It feels a bit strange to be here on blogspot. I know many of the 'older kids' use this site (or at least that's what I thought back then when I was a wee little 1st year in college) Maybe this is a sign that I've finally grown up--broken out of my 'little kid' phase. Yeah right....Who am I kidding? How can I let moving to a new blogsite be indicative of my growth?

Well anyway.....HAPPY HOUSEWARMING TO ME on this first day of blogspot. I think Kel and I made a very wise decision. As quoted on her last Xanga entry, this is the magic in the making:

[11:51] aerithkel: should i switch to blogspot too?
